Enjoy an afternoon visit to Claude Monet’s home and gardens. Inspired by the beauty and peace of the colorful Giverny countryside, Monet settled here in 1883 and stayed for the rest of his life.

You'll be treated to a guided tour of Monet's exquisite flower gardens with their famous Japanese bridge. Then enjoy free time to explore Monet’s home and former studio. Spend the rest of the afternoon shopping or take a stroll to the Museum of American Art.

This is a chance to spend a delightful day outside of Rome in Umbria, one of Italy’s most picturesque regions, rich in vineyards, olive trees and famous hill top villages across the valley.

The coach route is dotted with charming medieval towns such as Spoleto, Trevi, Foligno, Spello and the most famous of all--Assisi. This mystic city of Saint Francis, still surrounded by ancient walls, is built on the green slopes of Mount Sabasio. With its colorful houses of pink stone, narrow streets, flower-decked balconies and noble palaces, a camera in Assisi is a must.

You will visit the Basilica of St. Francis with its famous early-Renaissance frescoes by Giotto and Cimabue and its Basilica of Santa Maria degli Angeli, also getting the chance to shop in the little stores and artisans’ shops in the old town and have a lovely lunch in a restaurant with a typical Umbrian menu.

In the afternoon, depart for the picturesque medieval town of Orvieto, known for its beautiful Cathedral. Our tour will end at the hotel in Rome, at approximately 8:00pm, traffic permitting.

The Cotswolds
Steeped in history and heritage, the area of England known as the Cotswolds is a charming blend of cottages with honey-coloured walls and thatched roofs, market towns with crooked half-timbered houses lining the High Street, and ancient stone crosses, all set in the gently rolling hills ('wolds') that are so typically English in character.

Stratford upon Avon
We then travel through the rolling Warwickshire hills to Stratford upon Avon, a market town at the edge of the Forest of Arden made famous for being the birthplace of the world-famous playwright William Shakespeare.

Leeds Castle
Heading out to Leeds Castle, we pass through Greenwich, home of the famous 'Cutty Sark' tea clipper and the Royal Observatory, and cross over the Greenwich Meridian.

Leeds Castle was described by Lord Conway as 'the loveliest castle in the world' and is set in the middle of a natural lake, surrounded by 500 acres of parkland and gardens. We will take you in before the doors open to the public, to experience its magic in an atmosphere of still tranquility. There will also be time to explore the castle grounds where you will find the ' Lady Baillie Garden' with views over the lake, an aviary and maze.


Canterbury Cathedral
Traveling through Kent, the county known as the 'Garden of England', we make our way to Canterbury to visit the Cathedral. This magnificent Cathedral is the most important church within the worldwide Anglican faith. The central 'Bell Harry Tower' dates back to 1498, and the crypt to the 11th Century. It is here where your guide will tell the story of the shocking murder of Archbishop Thomas Beckett in 1170 and there will also be time to explore the narrow streets of Canterbury. There will be an opportunity for lunch in Canterbury.

Dover
We continue our tour through the picturesque landscape of Kent dotted with unusual buildings and quaint little villages to Dover, where you'll see the famous White Cliffs standing 400 feet above sea level. Brooding above the White Cliffs is the sprawling Dover Castle still watching over the town 800 years on.

The gardens were a great source of inspiration to Monet; they actually served as his muse for the famous Water Lilies painting, which can be admired in Monet´s private studio.

After a relaxing morning wandering Monet´s incredible gardens, enjoy a delicious lunch and scenic views of the French countryside at the Moulin de Fourges restaurant, located only 10 minutes away from Giverny on the banks of the Epte river.

Your cruise down the Vltava River includes an excellent buffet dinner on board. The Vltava River travels through the historical centre of Prague past many brilliantly lit landmarks. During the cruise, which begins at Cechuv Bridge, you will have a spectacular panoramic night view of Prague Castle, once the residence of Czech rulers since the 9th century.

The tour leaves Barcelona at 8:30am and heads straight up to Girona, a well-established city that has survived many a siege in the course of its long history, since its founding in around 76 BC. It has been dominated by many different peoples, and as a result has a great richness of architectural heritage. The Cathedral, founded in 1038 on the site of a former Mosque, and the spectacular Roman walls, along which you can walk when they are open, are just two examples of this. The river Onyar neatly divides the city in two, separating the old town from the new town. There is a wide variety of museums and sites of historical interest in Girona, or if you prefer, the narrow streets of the old town are very pleasant just to wander around, for window-shopping or for a quiet coffee while watching the people pass by.

We will then make our way to Pals, a small city that grew from a fortress. The name of the city comes from palus, the Latin word for marshlands, as this is just what the fortress used to be surrounded by, although they have long since dried out. More recently, the town's beach became famous as the location of the masts for Radio Liberty, a US radio station used to broadcast pro-capitalist programmes into the Eastern bloc during the cold war; the masts can still be seen. We will stop in Pals for lunch.

From Pals, we will head to the fishing village of Calella de Palafrugell, passing Begur on the way. Begur, with its hilly landscape and therefore commanding views of the surrounding area, was also the site of a fortress and castle; in total, these were destroyed three times throughout their long history, and now only ruins remain. There will be opportunities to stop for photographs along this road.

Arriving in Calella de Palafrugell, you will be struck by the clean lines of the whitewashed houses that almost reach right down to the seafront. Here, you can explore the rocky coastline, perhaps taking a dip in the inviting waters, or you can follow the coastline round to the beautiful clifftop botanic gardens at Cap Roig, the result of a romantic 1920s love story, which took 50 years to complete.

From Calella de Palafrugell we will return to Barcelona, arriving at 7:30pm.

Tours depart from Plaça Catalunya outside the Hard Rock Café.
