Your tour commences in Lille or London. On our day touring the Salient we see, in the company of a first class guide, some of the most important sites that remain: the area of the first gas attack, John McRae's Essex Farm, the Messines Ridge, Hooge crater where the flame thrower was introduced into modern warfare, and the sites that played a pivotal role in the Battle of Passchendaele; Polygon Wood and Tyne Cot. Walk the moonscape of the Hill 60 battlefield and see literally dozens of memorials to British, Australian and Canadian regiments and units. The tour returns to Lille, or for those remaining, we spend an evening in our regional accommodation.

Dedicate a full day to savor Paris, through its history and its artistic patrimony including guided visits of the Louvre Museum and the Eiffel Tower. Enjoy a cruise on the Seine River to admire the monuments along the banks.

The morning is dedicated to the guided visit of the Louvre Museum that you will easily reach by walking from our welcome office in company of our licensed guide. You will skip the line to be shown the whole precinct of this world famous museum especially the famous glass Pyramid erected by I.M. Pei., as well as the remnants of the old fortress at the origin of the Louvre Palace.

The afternoon is dedicated to discovering monumental Paris through the western districts of Paris, then along the Seine river during a one-hour cruise, and finally from the 2nd floor of the Eiffel Tower which offers an outstanding panoramic view on all Paris

Your cruise down the Vltava River includes an excellent buffet dinner on board. The Vltava River travels through the historical centre of Prague past many brilliantly lit landmarks. During the cruise, which begins at Cechuv Bridge, you will have a spectacular panoramic night view of Prague Castle, once the residence of Czech rulers since the 9th century.
In addition, you will see famous St. Vitus Cathedral, Charles Bridge (founded by Charles IV In the 14th century), Petrin with its copy of the Eiffel Tower, the National Theatre built thanks to donations from the residents of Prague, Vysehrad Castle which was the residence of the first Czech princess, and Slavin Cemetery where many of the most famous Czech personalities now rest.

Escorted guided tour and live commentary en route . . .

First stop is Blaenavon, a town which played a vital part in the Industrial Revolution which transformed the landscape, culture and society of Wales. Situated at the head of the Afon Valley on the slopes of the Coity and Blorenge mountains is Big Pit, (Pwll Mawr) the National Mining Museum of Wales. A real colliery where for over 200 years was once the workplace for hundreds of men, women and children. Discover what life was like on an underground guided tour led by real miners.

We cross the River Usk by an ancient and narrow arched bridge to Crickhowell, a picturesque market town, built on the edge of a hill looking towards the Sugar Loaf Mountain and Table Mountain. Above the town on the hillside is Crug Hwyel, where the first settlement was made over 2000 years ago, and where the name Crickhowell comes from. The town has small independent shops, bustling atmosphere, one of the richest areas in Wales for 17th-century architecture and used as a film set for historical dramas.

Hay-on-Wye, a character-filled old market town with quaint narrow streets. Its on the national border of Wales and England, on the northern border of the Brecon Beacons National Park and on the county borders of Powys, Hereford and Worcester. Hay is also the home of the world's largest second-hand bookshops started in 1963, selling books in unusual premises such as disused cinema, 12th century castle and old fire station. Lunch stop with ample free time to explore the town and local market.

Brecon Beacons National Park over 519-square miles of stunning countryside. Our tour visits the far eastern side of the park to enjoy views of the Black Mountains, quaint villages with stone cottages, Llangorse Lake, once considered to have magical powers, and the 18th century Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal, considered by many to be Britain's most picturesque canal. Crossing the canal we follow the scenic road to Talybont-on-Usk and reservoir, set in a charming wooded valley surrounded by splendid hills.

Leeds Castle
Heading out to Leeds Castle, we pass through Greenwich, home of the famous 'Cutty Sark' tea clipper and the Royal Observatory, and cross over the Greenwich Meridian.

Leeds Castle was described by Lord Conway as 'the loveliest castle in the world' and is set in the middle of a natural lake, surrounded by 500 acres of parkland and gardens. We will take you in before the doors open to the public, to experience its magic in an atmosphere of still tranquility. There will also be time to explore the castle grounds where you will find the ' Lady Baillie Garden' with views over the lake, an aviary and maze.


Canterbury Cathedral
Traveling through Kent, the county known as the 'Garden of England', we make our way to Canterbury to visit the Cathedral. This magnificent Cathedral is the most important church within the worldwide Anglican faith. The central 'Bell Harry Tower' dates back to 1498, and the crypt to the 11th Century. It is here where your guide will tell the story of the shocking murder of Archbishop Thomas Beckett in 1170 and there will also be time to explore the narrow streets of Canterbury. There will be an opportunity for lunch in Canterbury.

Dover
We continue our tour through the picturesque landscape of Kent dotted with unusual buildings and quaint little villages to Dover, where you'll see the famous White Cliffs standing 400 feet above sea level. Brooding above the White Cliffs is the sprawling Dover Castle still watching over the town 800 years on.

This tour covers Rock landmarks in bohemian Soho and the North London neighbourhoods of Camden Town, Hampstead Village and Heath, Highgate, Muswell Hill, Archway and Islington. An undoubted highlight is 'Ally Pally' (Alexandra Palace) from where you'll get an unbeatable view of London's skyline.
On today's tour you'll see Macca's Golden Disc covered office and the flat where he wrote 'Yesterday', Ringo's Hampstead house, and the only flat shared by all Fab Four. And, naturally, you'll also get to walk across the famed 'Abbey Road' crossing.

This excursion takes you north of Amsterdam, to the edge of the Zaan river, where you will visit the windmill village "de Zaanse Schans," with its characteristic green wooden houses.
At the turn of the 18th century this district was an industrial area with approximately 700 windmills in use. Today there are only five left. We will pay a visit to a windmill and a wooden shoe factory. Before returning to Amsterdam, we take a stroll in the medieval town of Edam.

On Fridays from April 3 to Sept 4, the visit to Edam will be replaced by Alkmaar.

During this fantastic trip you will see the historical places of Prague from a coach, boat, and also by foot. It is the longest and most complete introduction to Prague offered by Gray Line Prague. It combines the most interesting and important places from the three of our tours (Grand City Tour of Prague, Royal Route Walking Tour and Lunch on the Boat on the Vltava River.)

By coach, you will see the National Theatre, a panoramic view of the Prague Castle, Rudolfinum and Old New Synagogue.

Near the Charles Bridge you will start your cruise along the Vltava river. You will have the possibility to admire the marvelous panoramic view of the Prague Castle which has been the residence of Czech rulers since the 9th century, Charles Bridge (founded by Charles IV. in the 14th century,) the Cechuv Bridge and National Theatre. During the one hour cruise refreshments will be served.

The last part of the tour is by foot. Our guide will show you Prague Castle Area, Charles Bridge, Klementinum, Townhall (not available Nov 1-Mar 31) and the Old Town Square.

Tour ends at Old Town Square.
